Join us for an epic outdoor adventure as we explore the stunning Rouge Urban National Park!
We’ll be tackling the Orchard and Vista Trails, one of the park’s most scenic and popular loops. Perfectly balancing forested pathways with open meadows, this trail offers a fun mix of elevation, hills, and shorter routes that are sure to keep things interesting. Along the way, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping vistas, picturesque wetlands, and plenty of photo ops.
Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just want to enjoy a peaceful nature walk, this is the perfect opportunity to get outdoors, meet fellow LGBT+ hikers, and experience one of Ontario’s natural treasures.
What to Expect:
- A 4.3 km loop trail near Pickering, Ontario (approx. 78 m elevation gain)
- Considered an easy to moderate trail, perfect for all skill levels
- Trail open year-round, but not maintained in winter, so we’ll be hiking before the snow sets in
- Multiple viewpoints with scenic vistas, meadows, and wetlands—great for photos!
- A chance to connect with other LGBT+ outdoor enthusiasts in a supportive, fun environment
Bonus: This is the inaugural hike for the LGBT+ Outdoors Ontario chapter, and the first one in Canada! You won’t want to miss making history with us. So, lace up your boots, grab your pals, and let’s hit the trail together for an unforgettable day in nature!
